Silene dioica
(Syn: Melandrium rubrum)

Need an endless explosion of bloom on a tough, hardy, goof-proof perennial? I rely on this long-lived “Campion” every Spring for its bloomiferous bright pink color and medium height. Very quick to bloom with loads of cheery 1” scalloped flowers appearing Spring to Fall on branching stems above a sturdy clump of spoon shaped leaves. Deadhead to prevent self-sowing or cut back spent stems to foliage and feed for repeat bloom. Mid-bed showiness and containers. Rich, well-drained soil. To 30” x 24”. Cut flowers! Butterflies!
