Muhlenbergia rigens “California Deer Grass” ![Muhlenbergia rigens “California Deer Grass”]() One of the showiest grasses I know and certainly the most dramatic of California's native grasses. Excellent as a specimen plant or accent plant for dry gardens, it's also a great choice fro parking strips, driveway edging or a place no one feels like watering. Beautiful in a container too (15” or larger). Very drought tolerant, it flourishes with no Summer water. Growing 3'-4' tall its whip-like flower spikes are vertical when young, then arch out, giving the look of a straw-colored fireworks display. The spikes constantly move with the wind adding to the drama. Tolerates EXTREME CONDITIONS including HOT AND DRY and ROCKY SOIL. Annie |
