Malcolmia maritima "Virginia Stock" The first flower to bloom in my Spring garden! So romantically Springy! Easy-as-pie and sweetly scented, I never understand why more people don’t grow this exceptional hardy annual! Phlox-like flowers bloom in shades of rose, lavender, and hot-pink on a single plant (!), with an occasional all-white cropping up. Innumerable flowers create a DENSE 10”x16” mound that looks perfect with all Springtime bloomers. Enchanting massed and so harmonious with “Baby Blue Eyes” and pink poppies. Also wonderful as a bulb cover, edging, or in containers. For Bay Area gardeners, plant it when the Winter rains begin, then just sit back and enjoy the show! Reliably self-sows! Annie |
