Venidium fastuosum
‘Orange Prince’

Add a long blooming splash of orange to your Winter garden with this fabulous “African Daisy”! This South Africa native sports 4” blooms of bright orange petals with a chocolate colored ring around a dark center. Blooming begins in early Winter continuing thru Spring - with deadheading, blooming can last up to six months(!). Forms rosettes of lightly hairy silver foliage up to 6” high and 18” wide with blossoms held on 2’ tall, upright, single stalks. Use in a bed of sun-loving perennials, where you want to use the silver foliage as a color contrast, in a window box as a focal point, or for spilling over a low rock wall. This drought tolerant perennial is even tough enough to plant in median strips. The blooms also make excellent cut flowers and are much loved by butterflies! Frost tender, so be sure to protect roots in the Winter months. Deer resistant.
