Fragaria x ananassa ‘Gasana’ A highly ornamental ever-bearing Strawberry with lovely 1” pink flowers followed by delicious, medium-sized bright red strawberries. Blooming and producing from late Spring until Frost, it’s an excellent choice for pots, hanging baskets, or the edge of a bed. It also reaches a really good-size at about 1’ high and up to 3’ wide, but it does not spread aggressively, keeping runners small and to a minimum. Plant in rich, moist, well-drained soil spaced about 2’ apart. Fertilize throughout the warm months for best flower and fruit production. Removing Spring flowers will help increase the yield in Summer and beyond. Quality and yield drastically increase by year 2. |
