Amazingly fragrant, 3” pure white double flowers bloom in great abundance from late Spring to early Fall. This new Gardenia cultivar features a hardier habit, with flower buds that resist late Spring frosts without damage - good news for Bay Area gardeners, where warmish early Spring days can stimulate flower buds only to have a sudden cold spell kill them off! Evergreen, lustrous, dark green foliage provides a verdant backdrop to these white pearls. Features an upright habit, to 5’ tall and 4’ wide, making it especially useful as a container plant or in use as a hedge. The fragrant flowers can fill a room with their intoxicating scent when floated on a small dish of water. Plant in Full Sun in milder climates, in hotter areas it appreciates some relief from midday Sun. Provide fertile well-drained lightly acidic soil. Water regularly during warmer months. With enough Sun, good drainage, and just enough water, plants will resist the usual Gardenia problems of powdery mildew, bud blight, whiteflies and aphids. Deadhead for prolonged blooming.
