'San Bruno Mountain'
Native to San Bruno Mountain, just South of San Francisco, this beautiful California native was saved from the brink of extinction! Ideally suited to the Bay Area, this evergreen groundcover manzanita reaches only 6” to 1’ tall and up to 10’ wide. Clusters of showy pink urn-shaped flowers appear in late Winter thru Spring followed by especially large and showy red berries. In coastal gardens it thrives in full sun and little to no Summer water. Inland it prefers a bit of afternoon shade and occasional water. An excellent source of food for native bees, butterflies, and birdies!
