Agave attenuata
'Ray of Light'

This variegated “Fox Tail Agave” features tapered 6-8” wide bluish-green leaves gorgeously bordered in creamy yellow. Forming perfect rosettes of soft and pliable leaves that can reach 6’ wide, gradually elevated on 2-4’ tall stems, it’s a real head turner! Mature plants send up massive 5-10’ tall flower spikes, each curving back to the ground, giving plants their common name. Each spike is comprised of thousands of tiny greenish-yellow flowers popular with hummers. Plants make a statuesque container plant and are a definite focal point. Great for dry or rock gardens or for use in a Mediterranean bed. Grow in fast draining soil in sun to part shade. Protect from midday sun in hot climates and from a Winter freeze.
