Kniphofia thomsonii
"Alpine Poker"

Most Kniphofias bloom but once a year, but not this HARDY, swanky Kniphofia! Repeat blooming for much of the year – mine is blooming as I write this in December! Spreading by roots to 2’-3’ across with attractive slender upright grass-green leaves, the erect bloom spikes to 4’ are unusual and striking. Half-pendulant widely spaced 3” bright coral-orange tubular flowers are standout in the garden and bring hummingbirds. Loves composted, well- drained soil. Deer and rabbit resistant. Nice in containers (15+ gal). Hardy to 0 degrees F!
