Abutilon hybridum ‘Victorian Lady’

Oh swoon! Who can resist a double pink “Flowering Maple”? Wildly popular for an easy going temperament and year around bloom in mild climates, they’re also much valued for attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. Sweetheart old-fashioned, ruffly pink, 3” blooms dangle like little hanging roses from 4-6’ tall upright, branching stems that sport pretty maple-like leaves, primarily from Spring thru Fall (with lesser Winter bloom here in N. California). Abutilons really shine growing amongst lower shrubs at the back of the garden and work very well in large patio containers. Always accommodate them with rich soil and an annual Spring 1-2” side-dress of compost for excellent health. Cut back to 2’ tall in late Fall, it’ll rebound nicely in Spring reaching about 6’ high and wide.
