Hemizonia corymbosa
“Coast Tarweed”

This tarweed has pretty 1” yellow-gold daises all summer. The leaves have a filigreed edge and are aromatic. The 18” tall plant produces many branches for lots of flowers. Endemic to California, it is found growing in coastal prairies and grasslands. Does okay with dry clay soil once established. Seeds were eaten as a pinole, a meal of ground and toasted grains or seeds.
