Abelmoschus manihot Sweet Hibiscus Abelmoschus manihot Sweet Hibiscus

Such a great perennial, I'm befuddled as to why you hardly see it around and we temperate climate folks are so lucky to be able to grow it! SO trusty and reliable, it returns each year with more strong upright stems and more flowers. BIG 4-5", enchanting, soft primrose yellow blooms, centered with a rich garnet eye make a conspicuous, long-lasting show from July thru Fall. A quick grower to 4-5' tall x 3' wide with deeply lobed, tropicalesque leaves, it thrives in good loamy soil with compost added. Deciduous, cut back to the ground in Winter. Edible!
