Here at Annie's, we grow crops for over 2000 varieties of plants – every year! That means over a million plants start their little baby lives in our greenhouses to go forth and brighten gardens all over the U.S. from our 2.5-acre nursery in Richmond, CA!

Which is a really long-winded way to say we need more space! So, after years of service, we are giving some of our most stalwart, long-time favorite plants a well-deserved retirement party to make way for the many new and exciting offerings to come in 2018!

Bold and beautiful ‘Phyllis Fancy’ is a tough, vigorous choice for late season color – Fall thru first frost! Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds! Not fussy about soil with good drainage. Hardy USDA zone 7.

Dahlia coccinea palmeri
Luscious near-black, mahogany-chocolate foliage on a 4' x 4' plant sets the stage for a profusion of brilliant, 4" carmine red flowers blooming Summer thru Fall. Especially mildew resistant, hardy to USDA zone 7!

Exquisite fully double deep blue, spurless 2” blossoms dangle gracefully from old-fashioned plants to 30” late Spring to early Summer. Lovely in the shade garden, hardy USDA zone 3!

To see this glorious 5' tall tropical beauty and its 3" magenta trumpets is to want it! Super showy and WINTER BLOOMING, it's perfect in a container and can be grown indoors as a houseplant!

'Jelly Bean Gold'

Thriving on drought and neglect, this ultra-showy CA native evergreen shrub flowers abundantly from earliest Spring into Summer. A wonderful habitat plant loved by hummers, bees, and butterflies.

When you see this petite succulent shrub in full bloom, you'll want to grab a fan and have a seat. It's that hot! Deer, clay, heat and drought tolerant, just give it well drained soil and not too much water. Great in containers!

Fragrant 6-8" bi-color blooms erupt from this CA bush Lupine, providing pollen and nectar for bees, butterflies and hummers. To 5’ x 5', adding structure and texture in a hurry! Drought/deer resistant, hardy USDA zone 7!

Iochroma coccinea
Totally tropical, glowing clusters of orangey-red 4" flowers woo the neighborhood hummers Spring thru Fall. Fast growing evergreen small tree/shrub makes a fab lush screening shrub. To 8’ high and wide, prune to whatever size your heart desires.
