“Canary Island Foxglove”
Exclusive!
Arrestingly beautiful in bloom, this rare and aristocratic
shrub-like perennial native to the Canary Islands makes a
fabulous specimen for the dryish garden or large container.
To 4’ tall and 3’ across, it is related to Foxgloves
and bears regal 1’ long dense upright spires of hooded
flowers in glowing sunset colors of rust, vermillion and gold.
Held attractively above nicely offsetting deep green serrated
leaves on stiff branching reddish stems, the blooms appear
in late May and continue till October. Average, well drained
soil is important and just a bit of Summer water now and then
will make for best show. Rarely lives past year 3, but a real
stunner while he’s with us! Hardy to 25° and deer
resistant.
