Glaucium species 'Iran'

Heads up Poppyfiles! From Iran comes this rare & unusual gem of a Poppy for the dry garden or container. Blissfully radiant, true red 2” cup shaped blooms display a perfectly prominent yellow stigma surrounded by a boss of golden stamens. Curiously long, curved seedpods serve up extra thrills.  To 1’ x 1’, it also boasts attractively scalloped tidy blue-green foliage. Deadhead seedpods to prolong bloom but leave a few so it will self-sow next year. Well-drained soil!
