Lippia repens
aka Phyla nodiflora

A foot tolerant groundcover?  Lippia can handle trampling by children as well as dogs. Plant the seedlings 2’ feet apart & they will quickly fill in and make a dense turf for a lawn or knit together a bank for erosion control. Evergreen, but looks best in the Summer; an early Spring feeding will quickly produce new green growth. The dense mat is only 1-2” tall & stems will root where they touch the ground. In confined areas like parking strips, the stems will eventually cascade over the curb and may need clipping back. Lippia blooms early Summer through mid Fall with ½” clusters of pretty lavender-pink flowers, very attractive to bees. If this bothers you, mow periodically to remove the flowers. Native to California but also found in other parts of the US and South America. Some deer resistance.
