Olive-blushed pansies! ‘Envy’ is working one of my favorite color niches: mottled, antique & vaguely unnatural. It belongs in a sepia-toned garden with blacks & whites - & for some truly elegant tea parties, the 1.5” edible flowers also make a very fine garnish. This sophisticated Viola is prone to delicate shifts in tone with the changing of the weather. Fluctuating hot & cold may leave you with more diverse shades of blue & gold along with the usual olive & brown. Prefers a bright shady nook & can take sun along the coast, particularly during the cooler months. For those of you inland, you will have to make do in the shade. Grow in pots or along the edge of the border for best effect, as this compact plant exceeds no more than 10” in height or width.
