Bean ‘Rocquencourt’

A yellow bush bean, grown & enjoyed since the 1930’s. It is named for the French farming village of Rocquencourt, famous in the early 20th century for its fine vegetables, so the name carried the connotation of high quality. It is still very popular all through Europe. The pods have a smooth buttery taste & unlike the newer yellow beans, they stay crisp when cooked. Pick when 1/8-1/4” thick for the best flavor. The 2’ bushes mature quickly in less than 55 days & the more you pick, the more they will produce. Plant 4” inches apart & the bushes will support each other. Full sun is good, but rare for a vegetable, IT ALSO DOES WELL IN PART SHADE.
