All thumbs up for this deep magenta flowered sage from Mexico – its sprays of gently curved flowers enthrall all the hummers & we’re pretty smitten, too. I especially enjoy the habit – it has kept a compact frame – 3’ in height or so with an equal spread. Add a foot or so to that when it’s blooming, which it does handily through the months of Summer & you have a very colorful but also well behaved  sage. So nice! The leaves have a hint of purple in strong light, too. Testing for cold tolerance – frost damage minimal so far. Rich soil is best! Get some compost in there, k? We recommend annual pruning post- flower production to maintain health & size of the plant. Well suited to containers!
