Canarina canariensis
“Canary Bellflower”

WEB EXCLUSIVE
This crazy AWESOME & rare Campanula relative is endemic to the cloud forests of the Canary Islands & a Winter thriller! Waking up from its Summer slumber in Fall, purple shoots appear, growing into 6-10’ branching stems covered with toothy lance shaped leaves. It’ll scramble along the ground, through other plants, or if you’d like, can be tied to a fence or trellis for some vertical action. Covered in tremendous 3” long orangey-red bells all Winter, followed by walnut sized tasty orange fruits! Perfect for coastal California where it doesn’t get too hot or cold. Thrives in rich soil & can even be grown in a 5 gallon container. Sensitive to frost. Keep moist during the growing season, and relatively dry when dormant.
