A chipper & charming new South African shrub that’s won our hearts here at the nursery. Ursinia nudicaulis sports healthy, finely dissected emerald-green foliage & large 2-3” sunshiney daisies over a long period. Yellow composites are a dime a dozen, but this strong growing, unflappable & robust plant is so bloomin’ cheerful! Like other Ursinias, the blooms nod on long & slender stems before opening & facing upwards towards the sky. Don’t worry, it’s not wilting! No need to douse the plant. In fact, you won’t be doing it any favors, as it does not require excessive water. It does seem to appreciate lush garden soil & it tolerates Summer water, but my guess is it doesn’t need it. There’s not much information out there on this species! If you learn something new, let us know. Grows from 3-4’ high & wide & blooms all through Spring & Summer.
