Dierama ‘Miranda’

 

Few plants rival the grace & appeal of a well established Dierama! When we have them blooming in the garden, there’s little people won’t do to get one. ‘Miranda’ is a vigorous rosy-pink flowered selection & like every other Dierama I’ve ever met, she sure is alluring! As for care, Dieramas do like some Summer water, but once established they can do without. Disturb the corms as little as possible, as they are sensitive to this & avoid heavy, wet soils. Established plants will be around 3’ high & wide (or more), with blooming stems (which emerge in early Summer & regale garden visitors for a month or more) growing to 4’, with many blooms along each stem. The evergreen leaves are clumping & after a few years you can divide & share the corms if you’re so inclined. Best where they are given space enough so their delicate, wiry stems can wave in the breeze. Tolerant of many soil types. To maintain, remove old growth & bloomed out stems as necessary.
