Aloe vryheidensis
photo: Trillium grandiflorum
With lovely, flaming reddish-orange to yellow flowers, this Aloe will light up your garden! Slow-growing, it will stay small for quite awhile & is perfect for small gardens or small spaces like parking strips. (That’s where I’ve got mine!) Eventually becoming multi-headed & producing a short trunk, each rosette gets to be about 3’ wide & can get 5’ tall once it has a trunk. With smooth gray-green leaves edged in small teeth, it develops red margins in droughty situations. The 2’ tall, upright inflorescence blooms in Winter & is loved by bees. Native to S. Africa.
