New for 2010! A rare treat for you tropical plant geeks! From the lower Andes of Chile & Peru comes this lushly leaved shrub-like perennial, densely branched to 3’ x 4’ with large deeply veined spade-shaped foliage.  Numerous & delightful 5-8” dense spikes of small pink flowers are borne in Summer followed by exceptionally ornamental shiny black berries. EASY & very fast growing, “Southern Pokeberry” prefers rich, composty, moist soil but is said to tolerate a month of drought once established.
