A popular Italian variety with an appropriate name that means “green ball with very fine leaves”. The small plants are shaped like perfect globes & the small, thin leaves give the appearance of a sheared surface.  The leaves are strongly scented though not as pungent as large-leaved varieties & they are excellent used in Italian dishes or added to green salads. A great edible ornamental for borders, pots & window boxes. Grow in good soil with average water & pinch the flowers while using it as a food plant. Later you can leave the flowers for the bees to enjoy!
