Mutisia subulata
“Clavel del Campo”

photo: Nhu Nguyen
Exceptionally rare! This exciting vining shrub from Chile is renowned for its large & spectacular crimson flowers, which are 3” plus, & otherworldly & luscious against thin pinnate leaves. If next to a taller shrub or trellis, this plant will climb to 6', but if unsupported it will mound or trail to 3' tall or less, & about 5' wide. Preferring well-drained soil, we advise planting on a slope & amending to increase the drainage of your soil. After the plant is established (at least one season) it will require very little water. Occasional deep watering should suffice! Blooms through the months of Summer.
