Primula auricula ‘Abuelita’

Auricula Primroses have been popular in cultivation for over 300 years & yet are sadly very hard to find here in the states. Our named selections were chosen from a crop of plants whose parentage had a high pedigree - show-quality cultivars from England. ‘Abuelita’ sports flowers in shades of russet & peach, mingled together, on foot-tall stems & show themselves much of the year here by the bay – though elsewhere this cutie may only bloom in Spring. Like all auriculas, it likes good drainage, rich soil, average water & a cool shady place. Well suited to pots & rockeries, where its handsome leaves will amass a foliage clump 6-8” high & slightly wider in time. Honey-scented flowers perfume the air on warm days & are very cute as cut flowers for petite flower arrangements.
