| Dudleya x ‘Son of Frank Renault’

From the UC Botanical Garden collection comes this handsome Dudleya, selected for its heavily chalked leaves & compact (to 1’) rosettes. Easily grown in a large range of conditions, Dudleyas prefers light soil, low water, & full sun on the coast (light shade inland). Originally native to the coast of California, ‘Son of Frank’ blooms in the Spring on 1’ stalks that emerge from under the rosette, with flowers that are hummingbird attracting. All Dudleyas are native to the Pacific Coast, & most are from Southern California. Many are threatened in their native habitat! They prefer mild winters, & succeed in pots, rockeries, & on slopes.
