| Lupinus succulentus
“Arroyo Lupine”
A staple native wildflower! Lupinus succulentus is a common & welcome sign of Spring in California. It’s the blue that you often see as you’re driving down the highway & it makes a fabulous low maintenance addition to any out-of-the-way area, as it blooms for months, reseeds faithfully & will return every year. Palmate, blue-green leaves mound to 3-4’ tall & are topped by tons of 8” long spikes of fragrant blue, purple & white flowers that are attractive to all manner of wildlife. Here along the coast, it’ll drop its seeds to grow & bloom again in Summer. How cool is that? Tolerates heavy soils. Deer resistant!
