Ceanothus x pallidus ‘Marie Simon’

A hybrid that shares parentage with some of our native Ceanothis, Ms.“Marie” makes a lovely display of pink (yes, pink!) fluffy flower clusters that bloom in summer & again in Fall. The plant is also deciduous – another strange thing for a Ceanothus, & has showy red stems that remain attractive when the leaves are gone. It’s a lovely shrub, & will be long lived provided that you don’t keep it on a regular watering schedule. Less water means a slower growing, but much longer lived plant! Over time ‘Marie’ will reach a height & width of 6-8’. Tolerant of part shade, poor soil, deer, drought, full sun, & etcetera.
