Hot & dry? No problema for this rare Chilean “Prickly Poppy”. Native to the Atacama Desert, this fast & easy poppy bears about the LARGEST FLOWERS of the genus – to 6” across-it’s awesome! Splendid, pure white crepey-paper blooms display a showy central boss with bright yellow stamens that turn red with age. Growing to a nice multi branching 3’-4’ tall & 3’ across, the marbled blue-grey foliage is a real stand out in the garden as well, deterring marauding critters with its spiny foliage. Dead head to keep it blooming Summer through Fall & to prevent it from seeding around too much. Thrives in sandy soil, loamy clay & rocky gravel.
