Cotula turbinata

Cotula turbinata Cotula turbinata

Dainty daisies, each with a demure mini-skirt of yellow petals, bedeck this short-lived perennial (sometimes annual) South African plant for many, many months. Low growing, it's a natural fit for the edge of the bed or path, where it meets & mingles with its neighbors, or trails to soften the edge of the bed. Foliage is ferny & low-growing. Though weedy in Australia, we've not found it to propagate itself at an alarming rate here. I'm happy to get a few seedlings a year! Rich soil & average water yield a carpet of foliage & flowers. Leaner conditions yield much smaller plants. Blooms any season, depending on when the plant germinates & is planted. Grows to 4” high, & up to 2' wide.
