| Rosa ‘Vielchenblau’
“Blue Rose”
A multiflora rambler introduced in 1909, ‘Veilchenblau’ is a vigorous & disease free rose that should be right at home by the foggy SF Bay. It’s a rose that tolerates some shade, & works best in areas where you don’t mind things going a bit wild, as it can grow to 15’. While the color can’t be truly described as an actual blue, it’s as close as you can get in a rose, & it’s definitely a lovely shade of purple. The flowers are semi-double, cupped, streaked white, very fragrant, & the bloom in large clusters in early Spring. True, it’s a once bloomer, but well worth growing for it’s unusual color & healthy character.
