Pseudolysimachion kiusianum
ex. ‘Maximum’
(syn. Veronica)
“Lapis Tiger’s Tail”

When we first saw this plant bloom, we thought, “Oh, what a nice blue!” and we were very impressed later on when the blooming spikes elongated to over a foot in length. Found growing in meadows & forest edges of Japan & Korea, this very rare species of Veronica forms many tall erect spikes of dark blue flowers, soft in appearance. Multi-stemmed & multi-branching, its large, attractive, bright green, toothed leaves display red veining & turn bronze-ish in Fall. This species grows from 3-4’ tall, and from 1-2’ wide. Bloom season is late Summer to Fall. Rich soil for best appearance, cut back to 6” tall after bloom.
