Mimulus cardinalis
‘Golden Form’
“Golden Monkey Flower”

Mimiulus cardinalis ‘Golden Form’ “Golden Monkey Flower”

The seed for this golden flowered form of “Scarlet Monkey Flower” was collected from a plant on Santa Cruz Island. It is a robust plant with five velvety, gold to orange petals that form a large (to 2”) flower with long, protruding, creamy yellow stigma & anthers. The flowers are carried high above the leaves & are borne early Summer-Fall. The stems do tend to get leggy, so cut back periodically. In nature, M. cardinalis grows along streams so it won’t want to dry out. Excellent hummingbird plant! Grows to 2’ tall & 1.5’ wide.
