Sinningia tubiflora

Sinningia tubiflora Sinningia tubiflora

What a fantastic plant! Sinningia tubiflora is drought tolerant, relatively hardy & has beautiful fragrant flowers to boot. Producing a mound of soft, grey-green leaves about 1’ high, from which 2’ long stems rise, topped by large tubular, whitish-pink flowers. They are deliciously fragrant, reminiscent of sweet lemon. The foliage & flowers emerge from potato-like tubers in Spring. Supposedly needs full sun to bloom, even in hot climates, although ours here in the San Francisco Bay Area blooms easily in part shade. Heat & drought tolerant. Attracts hummers.
