Gentiana sceptrum
“Kings Gentian”

Easily grown in a regularly watered garden, this
rare native Gentian bears showy Gentian blue flowers in later Summer. “Kings
Gentian” grows
upright from thick fleshy roots to a height of 18” to 30” tall & about
8” across, with lance shaped, evergreen foliage. The intensely
purple-blue, tubular flowers are held erect, 2 to 5 in a cluster,
atop the upright stems. Native to bogs & prairies from British
Columbia south to Sonoma County. Good garden soil is best. Long-lived.
