Lobelia gibberoa

Probably our rarest plant in 2004! This gigantic Lobelia species from Kenya looks sort of like a clump of palm trees with huge, purplish tinted leaves. Eventually it forms a HUGE flowering flower spike to 18’ tall (WAAAH?) of greenish white flowers. Pictures show it often growing in the mist & so I’m sure it will thrive here in the Bay Area where other highland Kenyan plants do very well. Rich, moist soil is probably the ticket. Bright shade I’m guessing.
