Sideritis syriaca
“Greek Mountain Tea”
A lovely, tough, drought tolerant & heat tolerant perennial, native
to Greece that my Greek mom swears is “Good for all that ails you!”
Forming a nice looking, low, dense mound of slim, grayish foliage covered
in white fuzz, it bears June - Sept., pretty, upright stems of small,
light yellow flowers in interrupted clusters. To 2’ tall & wide,
it loves well-drained soil that’s not too wet, rock gardens &
containers. Used in Greece for colds, respiratory health maintenance,
it’s also good for digestion, frayed nerves & the immune system.
Anti-oxidant, too! 1 teaspoon per cup says my Mom!
