| Aloe peglerae
Whoa, this is one wacky Aloe! Endangered in its native environments in South Africa, it was named after Alice Pegler (1861-1929), a teacher, botanist & plant collector in South Africa. With beautiful blue-grey leaves that curl inward dramatically to form a nest around the flowering stalk, the rosette stays stemless & remains tightly clasped in dry situations. With regular water it opens up more. Blooming in Winter with orangey-red spikes, Aloe peglerae needs good drainage & should be kept dry in Winter for optimum health.
