Heliopsis helianthoides
'Burning Hearts'
"False Sunflower"

If you love Sunflowers (and who doesn’t?) but don’t have space for them, thisEASY,long blooming garden-sized stunner is the perfect alternative. Growing 3-4’ tall by 2.5’ wide, it produces lots of big (2-3”) bi-colored sunny yellow daisies, set off with brilliant red-orange centers and a puffy amber central cone. Stiff, deep maroon stems and purple to dark green foliage amp up the drama. Blooming Summer thru Fall, it’sdeer and rabbit resistant, humidity tolerant, adored bybutterfliesand honeybees ANDits seeds provide food for songbirds! Excellentcut flowers! Will produce even more blooms on a bushier, more compact form if cut back by 1/3 to 1/2 in Spring. Prefers full sun with average water in well draining not-too-rich soil and a 1” dose of compost once a year.
