Calendula officinalis Dandy Pot Marigold

Easy to grow and infinitely rewarding, “Pot Marigolds” have been in cultivation since time immemorial, frankly, because they rock out with their blossoms out. ‘Dandy’ flowers Summer thru Fall (almost all year in warm Winter areas) with innumerable 3” wide brilliant orange blooms with bright green centers, instantly brightening up containers, window boxes, or anywhere else in your garden that needs a blast of long-lasting color. To a proper 2’ tall x 18” wide and excellent for cut flowers, attracting bees and beneficial insects and repelling pests – it’s perfect for tucking into herb or veggie beds, especially since the flowers are edible! That’s right, sprinkle the pretty petals in you Summer salads or toss them into cooked dishes to impart a saffron-esque color. Plant in rich, well-draining soil and deadhead regularly for more floriferous display. Reseeds reliably!
