Miscanthus sinensis
‘Morning Light’

A large-scale ornamental grass with exceptionally fine green and cream variegated foliage only a quarter inch wide. Growing about 5’ tall by 3’ wide, it forms a dense mound of cascading foliage notable for adding movement and brightness to the garden. It’s especially useful for adding herbaceous height to the back of a bed. Exceptionally clay tolerant, it’s also drought tolerant and deer resistant. Tending to bloom in areas with long, hot Summers – in Fall it produces airy burgundy plumes held only slightly above the foliage for a nice Autumnal flair before aging to a creamy-fawn color, persisting for many months. Leaves turn golden in Winter – cut back to the ground in early Spring to make way for new growth.
