No need to go lawn free when you can just go native! This beautiful, low-growing, low-maintenance, evergreen CA native grassselected by grass guru John Greenlee is perfect for any full sun or part sun garden - tolerating sand, clay, no Summer water, and even seasonal flooding! ‘Lagunita’ spreads fairly quickly by rhizome, but doesn’t reseed, so you don’t have to worry about it showing up in unwanted places. Growing only 1-1.5’ tall with an erect habit, it’s suitable for no-mow yards, but it can also be mowed regularly for a traditional appearance. Stays green longer in no-water gardens than most native grasses, but an occasional watering (once or twice a month depending on climate) will keep it green all year!
