Mimulus cupreus

Mimulus cupreus Mimulus cupreus

Oh my orangey goodness! I’m a sucker for anything with an orange bloom & this Chilean native, with 1” tubular flowers boasts the perfect shade of flaming orange. In its natural habitat, Mimulus cupreus likes to hang near bogs, marshes & lake shores, making it perfect for edges of ponds & water features! Great in containers, too!  Abundant bloomer late Spring through Summer, especially if you occasionally cut the plants back to rejuvenate growth.  Toothy, emerald, oval leaves. To 2’x2’.  Bait for snails.
