Astilbe chinensis var. taquetii
A beautiful new Astilbe for mild Winter areas -reliably perennial up to USDA zone 10a (around the S.F. Bay). It also doesn’t mind a little dryness! The graceful, richly colored, rosy-purple plumes appear in late Summer - a welcome sight at that time of year, especially in the shade garden. Grows 40” tall & 25” wide. The attractive, rich green, divided foliage is tough & pest free.Thrives best in rich soil with lots of compost. If you plant it in sun, add a good layer of mulch so it won’t dry out too much. Excellent cut flowersyou won’t find at the florists!
