I love to see the smiles and sniffy noses on visitors when this intensely fragrant Philadelphus goes into bloom by our entryway. Old-fashioned and hard to find, it blooms in abundance in May and June (lesser throughout Summer) with creamy white, double, 2.25” flowers, scenting a wide area with its addicting spicy orange blossom perfume. It’s a delightful addition to bedside vases and posies. Evergreen and vigorous to 10’ high and wide or cut it back in Winter to 3’ for a smaller form. Useful as a screen or fence cover. Rich soil and good drainage is preferred.
