Quite the eye-catcher,the flowers of 'Indigo Dream' are unusually colored with white petals & contrasting super-dark purple filaments. It looks as if this passionflower went a little crazy with the false eyelashes! Actually, one of my favorite parts of passionflowers is the ring of filaments, & these are shown off quite well with this contrasting color combination. Another favorite thing is that passionflowers provide nectar to butterflies as well as food for butterfly larvae, making this vine a one-stop Stop N' Shop for the lepidoptera set. One of 'Indigo Dream's parents is 'Incense' so you can expect a certain amount of fragrance from the 3” flowers. This Patrick Whorley cross is a summer bloomer & grows to 40' tall/wide. Makes a great, quick cover for a fence!
