A lovely thing to behold in any garden – cottagey, or more refined - this rarely seen, yet hardy & showy perennial makes enchanting eye-candy for a well-drained, rock succulent garden or good sized container (10+ gal). Blooming from June-September, stout, upright stalks to 30” hold delightful whorled tubular blooms that begin as white & then age to pink & then crimson, with all colors appearing simultaneously. Glossy bright green (evergreen in mild climates) thistle-like foliar rosettes are handsome & emit a surprising citrus scent when bruised. Spent stems make excellent material for dried bouquets. Pretty grown with “Fairy Wands” Dierama.
