Vivid deep purple shiny berries dangle from 24” stems after a Summer bloom of little starry pale violet flowers. Hailing from Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island, it’s an evergreen cousin to Phormium and just as tough. Growing to 2-3’ tall and wide, it’s a clumper, sporting handsome, strappy, shiny green leaves. Completely drought tolerant once established it only needs an occasional water to keep it looking pretty. Windy conditions and salt spray are no problem, making it a great coastal option. Prefers well drained soil.
